    BMW's Hams Hall factory celebrates 25th anniversary

    By RAY MASSEY, MOTORING EDITOR An unsung hero of UK motor manufacturing is celebrating its 25th anniversary. BMW's Hams Hall factory in North Warwickshire, which employs 1,700 people, has built more than 7.6million highly efficient pure petrol and plug-in hybrid engines for BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce cars since it opened in 2001. Head of the Hams Hall plant Dirk Dreher said: 'This anniversary is a special milestone for our site. Unsung hero: The factory has built more than 7.6million pure petrol and plug-in hybrid engines since it opened in 2001 'There's always been a real passion among our workforce to continually improve our manufacturing processes and site. We're looking forward to remaining a successful plant in the future.'
