New for 2026, NASCAR is bringing back The Chase. The 10-race playoff format is reverting back to the format of the past. What’s old is new again. Homestead-Miami Speedway is also hosting the championship race for the 2026 season. The 1.5-mile track in Homestead, Florida previously hosted the finale in 2019.Yet, the move back to Miami is the start of an expected championship rotation. The series intends to move their championship race around to various tracks going forward, per statements from the series.A recent report suggested that rotation would begin with the 2027 season. It noted that the championship finale would be moving away from Homestead-Miami Speedway beginning in 2027.However, NASCAR has debunked that report. The following statements have been issued from NASCAR following that report:Per a release from NASCAR, “It’s unlikely there will be a new championship venue next year.”They added, “The season finale returns to Homestead-Miami Speedway this season, and the 1.5-mile oval is expected to stay in that spot on the 2027 schedule despite a report Monday that the championship rotation would begin next year.”“The plan would be to have the season finale again at Homestead in 2027, and then we’ll see what the rotation looks like,” NASCAR managing director of communications Mike Forde stated via the “Hauler Talk” podcast on Monday. The rotation is now expected for 2028.Homestead-Miami Speedway | NASCARCategoriesTags
