Kevin Harvick spent 23 years in the NASCAR Cup Series. He collected 60 wins and a championship along the way. The now 50-year-old retired from full-time racing following the 2023 season. NASCAR has made sweeping changes in the off-season. The playoff format has been updated with no round eliminations. Win-and-you’re-in has also been removed. Now, NASCAR champion Tony Stewart is making an abrupt return. He’ll race in a truck later this month at Daytona International Speedway. All of these things have Harvick thinking about making a return of his own
“I might just make a comeback, why not?” Harvick said. “Tony Stewart’s going to drive the truck race at Daytona. Why not? What should we race? I’m starting to get the bug again, I think.”“Cup is too much work. What could I just get in and drive?”“I ran a couple other truck races when we sold the team as part of the deal. Got myself in trouble, got a hammer thrown at me. Yeah, made a fool out of myself but I was good at that.”“It seams like we’re going back to what’s old is new again. So, why not?”“I don’t know, it sounds like a lot of work. Late model racing is pretty fun.”Harvick has run 123 NASCAR Truck Series races. He won 14 of those races with his last win coming at Martinsville Speedway with Richard Childress Racing in 2012.Kevin Harvick asked for an ownership stake to stay at RCRNASCAR | Kevin HarvickCategoriesTags
