Volvo shakes up UK top team as Swedish brand looks to continue 'incredible journey'

Jack Williams The Swedish brand has appointed Marc Piovesan as its new chief financial officer, replacing Johan Olsson who left the role last July after five years. Piovesan brings a wealth of experience and joins from Porsche Cars GB, where he also worked as CFO. He will take up his new position from February 23. Elsewhere, Volvo’s consumer operations director Suzanne Woolley is to take on an expanded role, with her title changing to consumer experience and operations director. The new position will focus on delivering a ‘premium direct-to-consumer experience’, and see Woolley continuing on Volvo’s UK executive management team. Another change sees Louise French, currently Volvo’s head of marketing Europe & APeC, become strategic marketing director for the UK & Ireland cluster from February 1, in a move that will see her leading the brand’s agency sales model. Piovesan, Woolley and French will all report directly to Volvo’s UK MD Nicole Melillo Shaw in their new roles. Commenting on his own appointment, Piovesan, said: ‘I am really excited to be joining Volvo Cars. ‘The UK business has been through huge transformation in the last few years and watching from the sidelines I have always been impressed at the results. ‘I am looking forward to joining the team and supporting the business to reach new heights.’ Melillo Shaw added: ‘Marc’s track-record of financial and operational excellence will be a fantastic addition to our business, and I am really looking forward to working with him. ‘Volvo Car UK has been on an incredible journey since we transformed into a direct-to-consumer model, and there is still much opportunity for us to continue to grow in the UK.’ The final change to Volvo’s UK leadership team will see Rob Deane leave his role as commercial operations director in April. He is departing to ‘pursue an opportunity outside Volvo Car UK’ and bosses have paid tribute to how he oversaw a period of ‘significant growth across sales, aftersales, retail network operations and fleet’ since joining in March 2024. Melillo Shaw said: ‘I also wanted to thank Rob for everything he has achieved during his time with the business and to congratulate Louise and Suzanne on their new roles within Volvo Car UK.’
